Hair Restoration Process

The first step in restoring your hair is a free consultation. This is an opportunity for patients to communicate what they need and want from this process. That includes understanding their objectives for reversing thinning hair, getting rid of a receding hairline, or achieving other goals. We spend 20 to 30 minutes discussing the final results they hope to achieve. This allows us to consider various hair loss solutions that may apply to hair regrowth.

We then discuss the technical aspects of the process. Some of the topics we’ll discuss and decide on include:

• If you are considering hair grafting, for example, we can talk about sedation if desired.

  Based on your goals, we determine the number of hair grafts or the extent of the procedures necessary to achieve your goals.

• Discuss a variety of cutting-edge technologies designed to tackle your specific needs in a relaxed, no-pressure but informative process.

• The process is meant to create a customized solution for you. Then, when you come in for treatment, you know what to expect.

Most patients tolerate limited amounts of sedation, which minimizes costs and allows them to return to their daily activities and routines. Most people will need antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection. Most do not even need a painkiller because there is minimal discomfort involved.

Depending on the hair restoration options selected, you can have natural-looking results without too much downtime, discomfort, or recovery. Most patients also have a follow-up at about one to two weeks.

Non-Surgical Methods of Hair Restoration

For those experiencing hair loss, non-surgical hair restoration methods offer effective solutions without the risks and downtime of surgery. These treatments focus on stimulating hair growth, strengthening existing hair, and slowing further loss.

• Medications: FDA-approved options like Minoxidil (Rogaine) and Finasteride (Propecia) are commonly used to slow hair loss and promote regrowth. Minoxidil is a topical treatment that improves blood flow to the scalp, while Finasteride is an oral medication that blocks DHT, a hormone linked to hair loss.

• Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: This innovative treatment involves drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate growth factors, and injecting it into the scalp. PRP stimulates hair follicles and encourages natural regrowth.

• Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT): Devices like laser caps or combs use red light to increase circulation and promote hair growth. LLLT is pain-free and FDA-cleared for treating hereditary hair loss.

Non-surgical treatments can be highly effective, especially when started early. We work with patients closely to determine the best-suited prescription and topical treatments to maintain the most of their hair fullness or health.
